Optimal siting and sizing of unified power flow controller using sensitivity constrained differential evolution algorithm

This paper presents Sensitivity constrained placement of unified power flow controller (UPFC) considering active-power sensitive index (APFSI) and static voltage stability (STATIC-VSI) to minimize losses improve transmission capacity. The factors are derived with respect voltage, phase angle current formulate APFSI. Transmission line impedance parameters along active reactivepower measurements considered static-VSI. differential evolutionary (SCDE) algorithm is proposed for parameter setting through which control minimization in system can be achieved. Testing performed on IEEE-5, 14 30-bus networks MATLAB results indicate that SCDE robust optimization technique compared conventional method genetic (GA)
